Climate-Smart Agripreneurs Workshop

About Climate-Smart Agripreneurs Workshop

Agriculture is Kenya’s backbone, yet climate change threatens its productivity, especially in Arid and Semi Arid Lands (ASALs), which cover 88% of the country. Despite national policies on Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), youth have often been left out, even though they make up over 75% of the unemployed population.

The Climate-Smart Agripreneurs Workshop, themed Empowering Kenyan Youth for Food Security and Better Livelihoods brings together government, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), private sector, civil society, and development partners to bridge this gap by empowering 100 young agripreneurs (aged 18-35), with 25 participants each from Eastern, Rift Valley, North-Eastern, and Coastal regions of Kenya.

The workshop will transform small-scale farming into innovative, commercially oriented, sustainable and modern agriculture. The workshop will also equip youth with knowledge, skills, mentorship, and networks, leading to job creation, food security and climate resilience.

By investing in yourself, you become the solution to unemployment, food insecurity, and the climate crisis. Now is the time to act!
