MullaHacks 1.0: African Fintech Solutions to Global Problems
Overview
MullaHacks 1.0 is set to be a landmark fintech hackathon in Nairobi, Kenya, aimed at harnessing the innovative potential of African developers to solve global financial challenges through technology.
Scheduled for August 30 -31, 2024, at The Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Langata Campus, this event will focus on creating new solutions in various sectors including payments, savings, budgeting, credit, investing, cryptocurrencies, decentralized finance, and insurance.
Hackathon Tracks
Junior Mavericks: This track is tailored for junior developers who have less than two years of experience in the tech industry. It is designed to nurture new talent and encourage innovative thinking among emerging tech professionals.
Senior Mavericks: Geared towards seasoned developers with two or more years of experience, this track will challenge participants to leverage their substantial expertise to develop advanced fintech solutions.
Event Format
Day 1: Opening ceremony, keynote speeches, team formation (for individuals who registered without a group), and the beginning of the hackathon challenge.
Day 2: Continued hacking, mentorship sessions, preparation of final pitches, judging, and the award ceremony.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the top three solutions in each track, with additional recognitions such as peopleā€™s choice and judgeā€™s choice awards.
